Uneven application of qualifications standards in Indonesia, and lack of harmonisation with UK qualifications
Trade barrier summary
Indonesia’s Qualifications Framework (IQF), endorsed in Presidential Decree no. 8/2012, sets out the Indonesia's domestic qualifications policy and framework for education and training. Despite universal application, implementation is not consistent. This difference in application makes it difficult for foreign suppliers to meet the required standards.
The lack of harmonisation between IQF and the UK’s Qualifications Framework creates additional challenges for UK businesses. This is in part because opportunities for cooperation are reduced, for example the UK’s Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is not recognised in Indonesia.
