In 2015, under the special act on safety certification for goods for children under the age of 13, a regulatory change was made requiring exporters to get sample products tested by an agency authorised by the local South Korean government.

Exporters need to comply with these testing requirements or buy the overseas goods through direct online shopping as a customer. This regulatory change is burdensome to UK exporters as well as local importers and distributors.
