Stringent licence requirements for telecommunications businesses in Thailand affecting UK exporters and investors
Trade barrier summary
The Thai Telecommunications Business Act (No.2) B.E. 2549 (2006) specifies that any person intending to operate a telecommunications business needs a license.
Foreign businesses are only granted a license if they operate without their own network for telecommunications services. This prevents UK businesses from operating their own network in Thailand and so limits how businesses can operate.
