New regulation requiring Emirates Quality Mark (EQM) for yogurts, milk products and juices in the United Arab Emirates

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) recently introduced a new regulation requiring certain products exported to the UAE to display the Emirates Quality Mark (EQM) logo. For the first 3 years, the logo can be stuck on the product on a sticker. After 3 years the logo must be printed on the food labels themselves.
The products affected are:
- yoghurt
- milk
- laban
- dairy and dairy products
- pasteurised camel milk
- goat milk
- juices
- fruit nectars
- mashed vegetables,
- juices with milk
- flavoured artificial drinks which are non-carbonated
- artificial fruit juice powder
- guava nectar and fresh fruit juice (unpasteurised)
This may create additional costs for UK exporters.
