Labelling requirements for cosmetic exports to Thailand affecting UK exporters and investors
Trade barrier summary
Cosmetics exports must have Thai language labelling within 30 days of the export date before selling in the market.
Labels need to list:
- the product name (the font size needs to be easily legible)
- type
- full list of ingredients
- directions for use
- the manufacturer's name and country or the exporter's name and address
- net content in metrics
- batch number
- manufacturing date
- expiry date
- notification number and warning in accordance with the Thai Ministry of Public Health notification
It also needs to be ethical and in keeping with Thai cultural norms. The manufacturers or exporters need to retain this product information, including evidence supporting the product's claims.
