Although the ban on overseas investment to distribute and sell physical audio-visual products in China was lifted in April 2015, the ban on foreign investment to publish and produce these products still remains. China's foreign investment catalogue bans foreign investment in network distribution services except music, however there has not been confirmation that majority overseas-owned online businesses can operate in the market.
