Cosmetics exports from the UK to Chile restricted due to complex and costly registration and testing procedures
Trade barrier summary
All producers of cosmetics with new ingredients in Chile have to register as a local business entity and file a report of good manufacturing practices. Additionally, new products also need to be registered. When registering, the exporter needs to pay a fee of up to $1,000 USD per products. The approval is valid for 5 years but the industry sector often has frequent releases of new products, resulting in the need to register a large number of goods which can be costly.
