In-state preference for procurement of printed materials in Florida, USA
Trade barrier summary
State of Florida statute outlines that the state government must give preference to the lowest priced vendor principally based in Florida when awarding contracts for printed materials.
A vendor from outside of the state may only win contracts if their price is at least 5% lower than in state vendors and of comparable quality.
This could prevent UK companies from accessing contracts to print materials for the state of Florida. A work around for this rule is to seek a joint venture with a partner based in the state.
