Whisky stuck at customs because of address mismatch on documents
Trade barrier summary
Leading UK Scotch whisky firms encountered disruption exporting to Brazil due to a difference of addresses on their whisky labels. This was because their manufacturing site address was not the same as their commercial address. The Department for Business and Trade (DBT) contacted the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture explaining the reason for this difference of addresses. DBT requested that while the documentation was being updated, the consignment be allowed entry. This issue has now been resolved, safeguarding sales of that particular brand of scotch whisky.
