Various organic products, e.g. tea, are not listed in Argentina's Food Code, so the authorities will not grant an import licence. There are related difficulties in securing organic recognition due to the high costs of funding the Argentine regulator (SENASA - Servicio Nacional de Sanidad y Calidad Agroalimentaria - National Food Safety and Quality Service) to conduct its own audit of production methods and locations.
