Restrictive requirements for UK early years teachers to work in China
Trade barrier summary
China requires overseas workers in the education sector to be Chinese speakers, have a bachelor degree as minimum, and have two years of relevant work experience. Internationally, the 'early years' education sector requires most early years teachers have a Further Education college qualification. This results in teachers not being "qualified" enough to obtain a working visa to teach in China. These requirements also hinder UK kindergartens establishing in China.
