Delays at the Port of Montreal affecting UK exports to Canada
Trade barrier summary
Updated June 2019: The port has improved its processes for removal of containers.
Frequent labour disputes caused delays to processing of UK exports in 2019 and 2020. This was because of strikes by Canadian National (CN) Rail and the Port of Montreal.
Further strikes in April 2021 have led to rerouting of shipments to avoid delays at the port.
