Labelling issue preventing export of UK sausages
Trade barrier summary
This issue has been overcome by labelling products containing raw meat as "raw sausages" which is in line with Japan's labelling guidelines. The definition of a "sausage" in Japan refers to a product containing cooked, smoked or dried meat which also needs to be seasoned. This means a product containing raw meat cannot be labelled as a "sausage".
