Enforcement needed for e-commerce in Argentina
Trade barrier summary
Overseas vendors operating through e-commerce platforms lack legal clarity, and cannot ensure their products will be permitted entry to the country. In Argentina, imports and exports are regulated by the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP) - the agency that administers taxation and customs. This means that e-commerce parcels are managed under general customs legislation. Enforcement of this regulation is unpredictable with regard to charges and taxes and quantities of goods purchased that are permitted to enter the country.
