In early 2020, a number of international schools applied for interest-free capital assistance loans from the HKSARG to fund school-building projects on sites in Hong Kong. These applications were initially voted down in Legislative Council of Hong Kong in May 2020. In July 2020, the applications were finally approved by the Legislative Council of Hong Kong Finance Committee.
